Professional experience: I've covered the ACC (or, more specifically, the Triangle) in some form or fashion since the fall of 2005, starting as an intern for GoHeels.com. I wrote for the Sanford Herald, contributed to The Durham Herald and wrote previews for ACCSports.com. I contribute to other websites and publications regularly, including Carolina the Magazine, The Cauldron and RaleighCo. I wrote for FOX Sports Carolinas from 2013-15, and was a cohost on The Morning Show on Buzz Sports Radio. I'm now a contributor for 99.9 the Fan and WRALSportsFan.com.
Education: Ragsdale High School (Jamestown, NC). Then I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a double major in journalism and political science in 2005.
Hometown: Greensboro, NC, mere minutes away from the birthplace of the ACC.
Playing days: Played basketball growing up, but just recreationally after middle school. Played tennis most of my life and all four years for my high school team. Took up golf a few years ago. Still not very good at it but I keep trying.
Most memorable moment in sports history: I'll never forget covering the 49ers-Panthers playoff game earlier this year, in spite of the result. The UNC-Duke football game two years ago that resulted in Duke's breakthrough win was special. Any Duke-UNC basketball game is, for me, memorable in its own way because of how electric each building gets before and during the games. Even though it wasn't that long ago, the UNC-NC State overtime thriller (aka the Marcus Paige-TJ Warren Duel) was one of the best games I've ever seen in person.
Favorite sports venue: Cameron. Sitting so close, you get so much more out of the experience than you would otherwise, even with students sitting (or standing) on top of you.
If I wasn’t working in sports I would be: A film or television critic. Those are my two passions outside of sports, when I have time for them.
