POST

The Durham Bulls play host to the Syracuse SkyChiefs Thursday night in the International League, looking to get back on track after a dismal road trip.

In Durham's last game, Tuesday night, Willie Harris hit a pinch-hit home run in the 10th inning to give Charlotte a 3-2 victory. The loss was the Bulls' fifth straight.

Tuesday's game was scoreless through the first six innings before Anthony Sanders drove in a run for the Knights (15-8) on afielder's choice in the seventh.

Jay Canizaro came back in the top of the eighth with a two-run homer for the Bulls (11-14). But Aaron Miles' solo home run in thebottom of the inning tied the game at 2.

Felix Diaz (2-0) pitched the final two innings for Charlotte, allowing no hits.

Talley Haines (1-1) gave up the winning home run to the first batter he faced.

Thursday's game is the first of eight straight home games for Durham, which wants to start the new month better than it finished the last one. The first pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m., and hot dogs will be 50 cents throughout the game.
