RALEIGH, N.C. — Carolina Hurricanes' goalie Cam Ward has launched a new effort to support Special Olympics in North Carolina.

On Thursday, Ward will kick-off a partnership with Special Olympics North Carolina called
Cam's Champions
. For every save Ward makes this season, he will donate $3 to the organization.
Special Olympics North Carolina gives thousands of children and adults with intellectual disabilities the chance to train and compete.
Ward said he got involved with Special Olympics Alberta, after becoming inspired by an equipment manager who was a Special Olympics athlete where Ward played junior hockey.
