CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — After another disappointing loss, questions are raised about the future of Tar Heels head football coach John Bunting.
The North Carolina team made few, if any, strides of improvement Thursday night at Virginia in a 0-23 loss. Bunting was 8-5 in his first season in Chapel Hill, but since then, Carolina has a record of 17-37.
On Friday, reports hinted that Bunting was in the process of resigning at the end of the season. The coach told a local newspaper late Friday that he had heard the report and "it is absolutely not true."
Carolina's next three games are against Wake Forest, Notre Dame and Georgia Tech. All of the teams are ranked in the Top 25 nationally.
