RALEIGH, N.C. — Both the Duke men and UNC women soccer teams were crowned ACC champions over the weekend.
UNC's Elizabeth Guess scored in overtime Sunday, giving the Tar Heels a 2-1 win over Florida State. UNC won its 17th ACC title in 19 tournaments.
Guess was also selected tournament MVP.
A year after Duke's Mike Grella scored the game-winning penalty kick to give the Blue Devils an ACC title, he came through again.
The sophomore forward kicked a goal 35 yards out to give the Blue Devils a 1-0 overtime victory against Wake Forest. It is the second straight ACC soccer title for Duke.
Both teams earned automatic NCAA Tournament bids.
