DURHAM, N.C. — B.J. Upton went three-for-five with four RBI to lead the Durham Bulls to a 12-to-6 win against the Charlotte Knights in the International League.
The Bulls (54-47) also got home runs from Damian Rolls, Matt Diaz, and Pete LaForest. Luis Ordaz went three-for-four with three doubles and scored three runs.
Charlotte (50-54) scored in the second on a solo home run from Mario Valenzuela. Durham answered with four runs in the fourth, led by Upton's three-run double with the bases loaded.
Diaz hit a three-run homer in the Bulls' five-run rally in the eighth to secure the win.
Jeremi Gonzalez (3-1) got the win. Travis Minix earned a three-inning save.
The Knights got home runs from Mario Valenzuela and Kelly Dransfeldt, who also had three RBI.
Arnie Munoz (1-3) took the loss.
