N.C. State One Win From NCAA Berth
By By: Ryan Craig Mar 10, 2007
Call it the magic of the red blazer. N.C. State is one win from the Big Dance.
The Wolfpack continued their impressive run through the ACC Tournament with a 72-64 semifinal win over Virginia Tech. State will now play arch-rival North Carolina for the ACC Championship, and with it, an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
N.C. State was led by Gavin Grant, who had 20 points, including a perfect 11-11 from the free throw line, many of those coming in the final pressure-packed minutes of the game. Courtney Fells added 16 points and six rebounds for the Pack.
Virginia Tech was paced by senior Zabian Dowdell, who had 15 points and five rebounds. Fellow senior guard Jamon Gordon had a double-double for the Hokies, finishing the game with 12 points and a dozen rebounds.
The ACC Championship game will take place on Sunday at 1pm.

Thanks so much for the positive comments about State. I should say, that as a life-long NCSU fan, I really appreciate it. Thanks also for reminding me that, even though it often gets lost along the way, pulling for the ACC team is always the way to go. I am 41, but I hope to grow up to be as good a fan as you guys are!
I remember the game of '83. Made history. Now they're at it again. I only hope this year it goes to UNC. Sorry State fans.
Congrats to them both.
We're the Red and White from State
And we know we are the best.
A hand behind our back,
We can take on all the rest.
GO TO HELL, Caroline.
Devils and Deacs stand in line.
The Red and White from N.C. State.

Congratulations to the NCSU Wrestling Team, too! ACC CHAMPIONS!
I meant college, not colege. We Tar Heels can spell.
