Kory Casto's solo home run in the sixth inning off of Bulls starter Andy Sonnanstine (1-2) was all Columbus needed as the Clippers knocked off Durham, 1-0 on Monday night at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Columbus starter Joel Hanrahan (1-1) picked up the victory allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out five in five innings. Relievers Winston Abreu and Chris Booker secured the win with four perfect innings of relief, striking out the side in the last three innings. Abreu recorded eight strike outs, while Booker earned the save by striking out all three hitters he faced in the bottom of the ninth. The Clippers pitching staff struck out 16 hitters on the night.

Sonnanstine pitched well for the Bulls, allowing just five hits and striking out seven in seven innings. The Bulls best chance to score came in the bottom of the fifth when third baseman Brent Butler walked and shortstop Matthew Maniscalco singled to right, but Hanrahan got out of the inning with two strikeouts.

The Bulls and Clippers will meet again on Tuesday night at 7 PM at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
