you calling anything a waste of space is like the pot calling the kettle black
Who cares about tracks closing. Its a waste of space anyway.
lucky22 is right, I have family in Hamlet, the area is dying. You go from Pinehurst to Rockingham----2 different worlds.
Of course NASCAR has changed -- the fans have changed. How many of the folks that bemoan the fall of NASCAR are still going out to the short tracks to watch the Friday or Saturday night races? Or the Busch or truck races? The fun racin'! No, the fans aren't coming out anymore. We're used to turning on the TV to get our thrills, not getting sweaty and dusty cheering on our local drivers at the track on hot summer evenings. So don't grumble about the smaller tracks getting closed. They don't have enough "gate" to pay the winners.
Lucky 22...sitting on a bare concrete grandstand in February....they didn't call that place the Rock for nothing!!
