Pack's Lowe Not Thrilled to Play at ECU
Dec 7, 2007
N.C. State plays at East Carolina on Saturday night, and Wolfpack coach Sidney Lowe didn't sound too happy about traveling to Greenville when he spoke with the media Friday.
When asked why State was playing there, Lowe answered:
"Why are we going to play there? ... Um ... We're going to play there ... Um. ... The schedule was made before I got here, put it that way."
East Carolina is 3-5 this season and lost to Clemson 82-67 on Wednesday. But there's no doubt the Pirates will be ready for the Wolfpack's first visit to Minges Coliseum Saturday at 7 p.m.
And for an ACC team like State, it's a game you look at with trepidation.
"We just had some games that were already scheduled ahead of time, before I took the job, and then we filled in from there," Lowe said.
When pressed by the media on whether he'd like to play in-state rivals like this, Lowe almost went into a defensive crouch.
"We're playing East Carolina tomorrow. That's it," he said.

I just wanted to go back to this story and remind Mr. Lowe that he did play in Greenville. Good job NCSU, it looks you have found a true "star" coach.
And by the way, go Pirates! It's about time we had revenge for the football game.
ECU will beat the h*** out of State! Go, Pirates, Go!
"BTW - congrats on those big wins against Limestone, NC Wesleyan and George Mason. Looking forward for that 'tournament run'!"
And we look forward to watching State and UNC's bowl games. Oops...there aren't any! And just as an FYI, you haven't made it to the tournament yet, so you aren't guaranteed a
"tounament run" either!
"I also had professors who taught at both institutions and passed out papers at State to make fun of the EZU students. They joked about having to "curve" it up for greenville. Seriously."
That's funny because I had a professor at ECU who taught World History on Tuesday/Thursday at ECU and on Monday and Wednesday, she taught the same class at UNC. I had a 99 average in her class and received a deficiency notice from her that I needed to get tutoring.
I called and asked her why and she said to disregard it. She said she had gotten confused because she had to hand out so many at UNC, she got them mixed up. So much for the braniacs there, huh?
