N.C. State's Degand Out for Season
Dec 24, 2007
Sophomore point guard Farnold Degand is out for the season after tearing his ACL Sunday night, N.C. State announced Monday.
Degand will undergo surgery at a later date.
The loss likely means freshman Javier Gonzalez will move into the starting rotation, backed by transfer Marques Johnson.
Degand, a 6-foot-4, 178-pound native of Boston, has started all 10 games for the Wolfpack, averaging 6.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 28.6 minutes per game. He also led the team in assists (2.9 per game) and three-point shooting (.500, 8-16).
Degand transferred to State from Iowa State, where he redshirted the 2005-06 campaign.
"This is a really tough break for Farnold individually and for our team collectively," State coach Sidney Lowe said in a statement. "After not being able to play for two years, he was really enjoying being back on the court. He will definitely have the support of his teammates and the coaching staff throughout the rehabilitation process."

tlglass I am not trying to get into your little argument but your the one that brought up the past by saying that "you have done it before and you will do it again" thats bringing up the past.....
It's gonna take more than one player? Not a problem, UNC's got a slew of All-Americans.
Quit living in the past? Also not a problem, presently #1. Again, I wish you a whole mess of luck.
Tough break, Degand.
yes we've all heard about Hansbrough, you know it's gonna take more than one player though to beat Duke even once, let alone other teams in the conference. the last three played have no meaning on this year by the way, don't know if you noticed but it's a different season for both teams so quit living in the past.
That's right, tglass. You have done it before--once. But that first encounter has no bearing on the subsequent three, or the next two. I don't see it happening. He's too focused, and too p_ssed.
And for the record, I don't think Henderson's a "dirty" player, he just made one dirty play, and paid the price. We all lose our head sometimes. And yes, I have noticed his skills. I'd say 2nd team All-ACC is a definite lock. As is 1st team All-America for Tyler, yet again. :)
The Big East IS down and dirty - "football without pads," good call on that one!
