Chad LaRose Activated From Injured Reserve

RALEIGH, NC- Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, announced today that forward Chad LaRose has been activated from injured reserve. To make room for LaRose on the active roster, Brandon Nolan has been reassigned to Albany of the American Hockey League (AHL). LaRose, who was placed on injured reserve with a concussion on Dec. 21, retroactive to Dec. 18, is eligible to play in tonight's game against the Boston Bruins at the RBC Center.

LaRose, 25, has totaled four goals and six assists (10 points) and 30 penalty minutes in 35 games played for the Hurricanes this season. The Fraser, MI, native is currently in his third NHL season with Carolina, and has registered 11 goals, 30 assists (41 points) and 75 penalty minutes in 164 career games.

Nolan, 24, made his NHL debut with Carolina on Dec. 22 at Tampa Bay, earning an assist in the game. He played two games with the Hurricanes during his stint, totaling one assist, a plus-1 plus/minus rating and averaging 7:35 per game in ice time. The St. Catharine's, Ont., native ranked tied for first on the River Rats in goals (11), second in points (22) and third in penalty minutes (59) in 29 games played for Albany at the time of his recall.

The Hurricanes face the Boston Bruins tonight at the RBC Center (7 p.m., Hurricanes Radio Network). Following tonight's game, the team will travel to Columbus, where Carolina will take on the Blue Jackets Saturday night at 7 p.m. (FSN South HD, Hurricanes Radio Network).
