Three Canes Activated From Injured Reserve

RALEIGH, NC- Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, announced today that the team has activated center Matt Cullen, right wing Scott Walker and defenseman Bret Hedican from injured reserve. All three players are available to play in tonight's game against the Ottawa Senators.

Cullen, 31, has missed seven games since leaving Carolina's game against the New York Rangers on Dec. 26 after a hit by Colton Orr. The Virginia, MN, native leads the Hurricanes and ranks tied for 23rd in the NHL in assists this season with 29.

Walker, 34, has five goals and eight assists (13 points) in 24 games played for Carolina this year, and has missed the past six games with a knee injury.

Hedican, 37, has missed the past nine games after suffering a sprained right knee on Dec. 28 against Boston. The North St. Paul, MN, native has totaled two goals and seven assists (9 points) in 37 games played this season.

Glad to have Hedican, Walker, and Cullen back in the line up. Sure hope the injuries and illnesses take a break from the Canes, a long break. Sorry to hear Adams is going to Chicago though.

Um, yeah, I don't think so. they are in a slump yes, but their playoff picture isn't blasted just yet, show some support for the team here would ya.

Hedican seems to be injury prone, how long will it be before he gets another one that places him on the IR. The Canes are now on the outside looking in at a playoff spot.

Woo Hoo they are back! I met all of them last weekend and Cullen's eye looked bad but he told me he was planning to play tonight. Glad to see they are able to play! GO CANES!
