St. Aug's Beats Shaw, 86-63

Juniors Will Gill and Robert Shuler both led the way with 18 points and Saint Augustine’s College topped l Shaw 86-63 Saturday night in a CIAA basketball game at Broughton High School’s Holliday Gymnasium.

Senior Justin Dickens added 11 points as St. Aug's beat Shaw for the second time this season. The Falcons are 11-3 overall, 8-1 in the CIAA and 3-0 in the Western Division..


Will Graham scored 17 points for the Bears (3-12, 0-7 CIAA, 0-4 Western Division). John Kornegay scored 11 points and Cori Gaither 10 for Shaw.

All 11 players scored for the Falcons, who led 42-28 at halftime and were never threatened in the second half. Overall, the Falcons did much of their damage in the paint, outscoring the Bears 44-28 inside. They also scored 32 points off 25 Shaw turnovers. The Falcon bench, paced by Shuler, outscored the Bears 39-20.
