In honor of the 25th anniversary of the 1983 NCAA title in men's basketball, N.C. State is trying to raise $25,000 for the V Foundation for Cancer Research at two upcoming home basketball games, the school announced Monday.
The campaign begins at the Virginia Tech game Tuesday. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase a “Wolfpack Game Day” game program along with a Jim Valvano bobblehead doll for $25. The bobblehead doll commemorates Valvano in the moments after the championship win over Houston. The game program features photos of each 1983 team member on the cover. Bobblehead sales will begin at 5:30 pm when the arena doors open.
While supplies last, fans will also have the chance to purchase this game program and commemorative bobblehead doll at the Clemson game on Feb. 16. Free 1983 championship commemorative posters will also be distributed at the Clemson game .
Members of the 1983 team will be honored at halftime of the Clemson game.
