Raleigh, N.C. — Clemson beat N.C. State 71-64 on Saturday in a hard-fought ACC game at the RBC Center.
The Wolfpack honored its 1983 champions at the game, and many of the key players from that epic team, including Thurl Bailey and Lorenzo Charles, were back for the reunion. Sidney Lowe, the point guard of that team, is now N.C. State's head coach.
The current Pack tried to recapture the magic of that season with a late run to overcome a big Clemson advantage. But State couldn't hold off Clemson in the final minutes even though the Tigers, as always, missed some free throws.
State next plays North Carolina on Wednesday night at the RBC Center.
WRAL will have complete coverage of Saturday's game, with a full game report and video highlights and reaction from the game.
