The Carolina Hurricanes have recalled center Joe Jensen from Albany and put captain Rod Brind'Amour on injured reserve., the Canes announced Monday.
Carolina acquired Jensen, 24, on Jan. 31 from Pittsburgh in exchange for David Gove. In 33 AHL games this season with Albany and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Jensen has two goals and two assists. Jensen, 5 feet 11 and 180 pounds, has also played in nine games with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL this season.
Jensen played four years of collegiate hockey at St. Cloud State University of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association before turning professional.
