Williams Says Lawson Might Play Saturday

North Carolina coach Roy Williams said Monday that he hopes guard Ty Lawson will return Saturday, when the Tar Heels play at Boston College.

Carolina does not have a game until Saturday.

Williams said he had originally hoped Lawson would play in Sunday night’s victory over Wake Forest.

“Seven to 10 days ago I had hoped he’d play against Wake Forest,” Williams said Monday. “Their guards are so quick. And Ty’s our quickest player. But Friday and Saturday, we made the decision he wasn’t quite ready yet.

“I hope to play him against Boston College this week, but for that to happen, he’s got to go through practice and do some things and do things effectively.”

UNC does not practice on Monday and will have light workouts Tuesday. Full practices resume Wednesday.

Ditto - I'm tired of hearing about it too. But it is a great reason for Roy to have yet another press conference and put his teflon mug in front of another camera. All these injuries couldn't have worked any better for Roy to get more media time.

And I'm so tired of hearing about of NCst.'s baskeball problems. It is sad when they have to bring up the 1983 team to get their fans pumped up about something.
