Tonight at 7:30: WRAL Special on the "Cardiac Pack"
Mar 4, 2008
Lining the halls of WRAL are what we call “edit bays,” where reporters and photographers hunch over flat-panel screens to blend video and audio as our stories spring to life.
Those edit bays are sort of the kitchen of the station. Tonight, you’ll see a remarkable product from those bays when “The Miracle of the Cardiac Pack” airs on WRAL at 7:30 p.m.
It’s the story of N.C. State’s run to the national basketball championship in 1983, and what emerged from those edit bays is simply stunning.
Tom Suiter, Bob Holliday, Jeff Gravley and Jason Jennings captured the team and time in a pulsating report that celebrates the joy of college basketball.
Tonight, we remember that miracle as a new March begins.

No need to feel sorry for me... I take things a lot more lightly than you do obviously...lighten up!
I AM PROUD of UNC's past... I don't run to any closet. After UNC lost to Duke I was one of the only ones on here talking about the game. I give credit when it's due and am not going to bash another team for winning or beating "my team". it's not realistic to think UNC is going to win everything every year. I have been a UNC fan since I was olde enough to understand basketball... I don't just like them because Michael Jordan played there or they have a Great history! Sorry if I offended anyone about State but there is a story about it everyday on this website! Didn't mean to get you all excited! GO HEELS!
"KD1229"- "Get off the past"??????????? Are you not proud of your teams' past accomplishments? Or do you run to the closet like most UNC fans when they don't win the ACC or a National Title? Obviously so. I feel sorry for you then.
KD, I think the point is that it is the 25th anniversary, that is why they are making a big deal about it. My high school won the state 3A basketball championship 20 years ago they just had a 20 year reunion of the team, sometimes it is just fun to relive history. If you don't want to watch or read about it don't. Are you even old enough to remember the 83 team?
I understand all of it but it was in 1983... Thats all I am saying!
