Lawson Leaves With Injured Hip, Returns In Second Half

Tar Heel point guard Ty Lawson left the court and headed to the locker room earlier than his teammates during the first half of North Carolina’s home game against Florida State. UNC Sports Information Director Matt Bowers said that Lawson sustained a hip pointer after being struck by an errant elbow.
Bowers said that Lawson’s departure had nothing to do with the ankle injury which had kept him sidelined for a number of weeks.
Back-up point guard Quentin Thomas started the second half for the Tar Heels, but Lawson has since re-entered to the lineup.
