CHARLOTTE, N.C. — DURHAM, N.C. – Three-time defending NCAA Champion Duke women’s golf is currently listed No. 1 in both the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index and the Golf World/NGCA Coaches’ Poll.
In the latest Golfweek rankings, the Blue Devils sit atop followed by UCLA, Arizona State, Southern California, Florida, Arizona, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Wake Forest and Auburn.
The first Golf World poll of the spring was released on Wednesday with Duke receiving 18 first place votes on its way to remaining at the top position followed by UCLA, USC, Arizona State, Florida, Auburn, Arizona, Arkansas, Oklahoma State and Purdue.
In six tournaments so far in the 2007-08 campaign, Duke has won three events, while finishing second twice and one third place ledger.
Duke is led by two-time National Player of the Year Amanda Blumenherst, who is currently ranked No. 1 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index. Other Blue Devils ranked in the top 40 are Jennie Lee (8), Alison Whitaker (31) and Jennifer Pandolfi (38).
Duke is coming off a tied for second place finish at the Wildcat Invitational, while Blumenherst carded her 10th career victory in the event.
