Eric Staal scored his 32nd and 33rd goals of the season to help the Canes notch a 6-3 win over Atlanta Wednesday night, their second victory in a row. Staal also had an assist on Erik Cole's second period goal.
The Canes fell behind early on a Chris Thorburn goal less than five minutes into the contest, but Carolina responded with four unanswered goals to take a 4-1 lead midway through the second period.
Frantisek Kaberle had three helpers on the night, while Erik Cole and Scott Walker each contributed a goal and an assist.
Ilya Kovalchuk scored his 43rd goal of the year for the Thrashers in a losing effort.
