DURHAM, N.C.- For the second straight year, Duke University junior Abby Waner has been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Academic Team, which was released on Thursday by the ACC office.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.

Waner owns a 3.35 grade-point-average and is majoring in English. She was also named to the ESPN The Magazine All-District III team earlier this season.

In her third year, Waner has developed into a more complete player, while averaging 10.4 points, 3.7 assists, 3.1 rebounds, 2.4 steals and has a 1.37 assist/turnover ratio. On the season, Waner has hit a team-best 43 three-pointers.

In conference play, she ranked fifth with 4.07 assists per game and second with a 1.54 assist/turnover ratio. In the overall ACC stats, she is tied for fifth with a 3.72 assists average and seventh with a 2.44 steals average.

On Feb. 10 versus Wake Forest, Waner became the 23rd player in school history to reach 1,000 career points as she totaled 12 points in the game. She now owns 1,049 in her three years at Duke.
