Greensboro, N.C. — This time, it was the women’s turn.
A Carolina basketball team defeated the Duke Blue Devils to snare an Atlantic Coast Conference championship for the second time this weekend.
No. 2 UNC (30-2) beat No. 11 Duke (23-9), 86-73, in Greensboro to secure the ACC women’s championship Saturday afternoon.
UNC’s Rashanda McCants barely missed a double-double, contributing 16 points and nine rebounds. Forward Erlana Larkins and guard Cetera DeGraffenreid each chipped in 17 points.
Forward-center LaToya Pringle was the fourth UNC player to score in double digits, scoring 16 points.
Jasmine Thomas and Chante Black lead the way for Duke, with 16 points each. Abby Waner came up with 11 points and nine rebounds.
