Canes' Whitney to Undergo Surgery

Raleigh, N.C. — Carolina Hurricanes left wing Ray Whitney will undergo surgery Saturday to repair a damaged bursa in his leg, team President and General Manager Jim Rutherford said.
Dr. Marty Isbell will perform the surgery at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, and Whitney is expected to miss two to three weeks of action, Rutherford said.
Whitney, 35, ranks second on the Canes with 25 goals and 59 points this season. He led the team in scoring last year, with 83 points.
