"Hockey will NEVER be more popular than College Basketball, on Tobacco Road. Except maybe for all the Yankees living in Cary."
Perhaps not, but I thought it was interesting that Sunday's Canes game, which was played at the same time as the ACC Tournament final, played to a full house. I'm a native of Raleigh and a lifelong BB fan, but I was at the hockey game (and loved it).
ACC basketball may still be king, but it definitely has some competition now.
I got my tickets from a student. With that and my fake ID, I'll be quite comfortable as I route for "anyone but and ACC team." I hear Roy has a top secret strategy that is fool-proof; something about scoring more points than the other team. Brilliant! The 1999 Harteels used the same strategy, but we all know how that turned out, don't we.

I was there too, about 55th in line, and the line was way out the door behind me. I know they were not Mt. St. Mary's tickets because they sold out yesterday. What bothered me was they allowed people to get 8 tickets, and they never would say the approximate number of tickets they had available. I'm glad the man 5 ahead of me didn't get tickets, because he had to ask who was playing.
Yea, they are all gone. We were up there this morning and the line was out the door. :(
