Canes Activate LaRose, Put Eaves on Injured Reserve
Mar 28, 2008
The Carolina Hurricanes have activated forward Chad LaRose from injured reserve, the team announced on Friday.
LaRose is eligible to play in Friday night’s game against Atlanta at the RBC Center.
The Hurricanes also placed forward Patrick Eaves on the injured reserve list. Eaves underwent shoulder surgery Friday morning at Rex Outpatient in Cary. Dr. Marty Isbell of Raleigh Orthopeadic did the surgery, the team said, and Eaves is expected to miss two to three weeks of action.

Magic number stands at 1.5 now I do believe.
I have no problem with Eaves next year but we need to be at the top of our game now! If this injury depleted lineup slips over the next week the playoffs might slip away too. I'll hand it to them though, I thought they were done when Brindy went down. We need Cullen and Whitney back and Williams would be awesome for the playoffs(if we can get there). At this point I think it is all hanging on Ward to GET US THERE!!! Must win tonight!!
Eaves had shoulder issues before he arrived and missed several games with the Sens. The trade was about Corvo with Eaves being a nice add-on. Look at JR's moves in the past few years...he hasn't missed. Eaves is young and should be a good piece going forward.
Eaves will get healthy, he will produce, he just isn't an immediate impact player like Corvo and Samsonov have been. Eaves is also only 23yrs old. He's young and will continue to develope at an accelerated pace I hope. Hope he gets well soon and hope this surgery does the trick for him.
so on eaves already being injured, that had to be known by JR. he came over having not played for a number of games.. I have no evidence to back this, but I think to get Corvo, I think some wrangling of various players was involved with the final set of players being eaves-corvo and stillman-commodore with the knowledge that eaves was injured..
