WRAL and 99.9 FM The Fan will be all over the Final Four as North Carolina goes for the national title in San Antonio.

Jeff Gravley, Ken Medlin and Jason Jennings are in San Antonio, along with News anchor Ken Smith, to provide WRAL viewers complete coverage on television. We'll also have a special show at 7 p.m. Friday previewing the games.

WRAL.com will be posting news, interviews, photographs and complete information on the Final Four. And look for our live blog Saturday night during the UNC-Kansas game and another if the Heels make the national final.

The Fan kicks off blanket coverage tonight at 7 p.m. Dave Rothenberg and The Fan staff will preview the games in a two-hour special version of Inside the ACC.

Then on Friday, the coverage ramps up with 12 straight hours of coverage from San Antonio. The Dan Patrick and Tim Brando shows are live from the Final Four, followed by The Fan’s Insiders at 3 p.m. and Inside the ACC after that.

The Fan will have a Final Four special Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

And the games? Of course they are on WRAL as well, with UCLA meeting Memphis Saturday night at 6 p.m. and UNC-Kansas following at approximately 8:47 p.m.

"North Carolina enters the Final Four with the best offense (nominally) and the worst defense (by a decent margin) of any team left. While all four remaining teams finished the season in the top seven (yes, even UCLA) in adjusted offensive efficiency, Carolina (19th overall) is far outstripped on the defensive end, where the other three all finished in the nation's top five

The last four national champions have ranked in at least the top 12 in BOTH offensive and defensive efficiency. Right now, our Tarheels are 7 and 19. This doesn't mean that we won't win, but it will certainly be an interesting aspect to watch"

Another thought, just because the four previous champs were ranked at least 12 in both O & D efficiencies doesn't make it a magic formula. Obviously, all stats are based on history. And if UNC wins the title, then one can say that the past 5 champs were at least 19 in both categories.

"Again, it's something all Tarheel fans may admit to themselves but never verbalize or, in this case, put in writing."

I found the part about hoping we would be lucky enough to win curious as well. Implies that we are not as good as them, it is going to take luck to do.

We shall see.

I know I posted this earlier, but isn't it nice to have a discussion with no haters on board.

"You maybe right, we shall see. But when someone says we choked, our fans are whiners, we need to be lucky to win and starts discussing how we are might lose, raises doubts."

Yeah, I see your point. The whiners part I don't understand but the choking part, while it hurts to admit, may be true. We did have a double digit lead in that game. Again, it's something all Tarheel fans may admit to themselves but never verbalize or, in this case, put in writing.

As for the luck, I think it will take a little of that mixed in with all our talent! Go Heels!!!!!

Exactly, heelsfan19. Sports is all about hopes, dreams, preparation, and a little realism.
