Terrence Holt thought he might wide up with the Panthers coming out of college. So it was an easy sell to sign with Carolina last month.
"I told them I don't need to see none of the facilities or nothing," Holt said. "I've seen this place millions and millions of times, so where do I sign at?"
When he did, his brother Torry became envious.
"I wanted to send in my resignation to the the Rams and see if I could join him," the elder Holt joked. "I'm excited, but I;m also a little jealous because I've always wanted an opportunity to come back home."
Could it be true? The two brothers and former Wolfpackers reunited in Charlotte?
Terrence seemed to think it was a possibility.
"I was telling coach Fox, 'if I do sign, this is a package deal, so you got to get me this year and get my brother in the next year or two so we can play on the same team'".
Of course, a lot has to happen between now and then for the "package deal" to become a reality. Terrence only signed a one year contract with Carolina. Torry has two years left on his deal with the Rams.
"I'm going to play those out and be healthy, as long as they have me back," Torry said. "Once I'm done with that, this I'll just go from there."
But the thought of the potential Hall of Fame receiver going to Carolina has Panther wide receiver Steve Smith smiling.
"Hopefully...you never know," Smith said. "We might get Torry and all of a sudden...good combination."
A receiver combo of Smith and Holt? That alone could solve some of the Panthers quarterback issues.
