Raleigh, N.C. — N.C. State will play four games in Reynolds Coliseum, including two regular season contests, according to a men's basketball schedule released Tuesday.
The Pack is scheduled to have eight games against teams that went to the 2008 NCAA Tournament.
“Our scheduling is going to be very challenging for us this season,” said head coach Sidney Lowe. “I think we have some very tough non-conference games including a hard road schedule, and once again the ACC is going to be one of the top conferences.”
N.C. State will open Nov. 15 with a trip to New Orleans, its first opener on the road since 1997 and The Pack will be opening its season on the road for the first time since the 1997-98 season when NC State faced Georgia in New Jersey, and the Pack will open a season on an opponent’s home court for the first time since a trip to Florida International in 1990-91.
The Pack’s non-conference schedule aincludes a game in Charlotte Dec. 6 against Davidson in Charlotte Bobcats Arena. The Pack will also travel to Gainesville on Jan.3, and face Florida in its final tune-up before ACC play begins.
For the first time since moving into the RBC Center in 1999-2000, NC State will play multiple regular season games in Reynolds Coliseum. The High Point (Nov. 22) and Winston-Salem State (Dec. 13) games will both be held in the former home of the Wolfpack.
Both exhibition games will be in Reynolds Coliseum. The first will be against Fort Valley State Nov. 6, then on Nov. 11 against Catawba College.
“I think the fans will love the opportunity to see our team in Reynolds Coliseum this season,” Lowe said in a statement. “Our players have always loved playing in that atmosphere, and I’m glad it will give the students the chance to just walk over from their dorms and be part of that environment.”
