Harrison, NJ (Sports Network) - Thierry enjoyed a banner night at Red Bull Arena on Saturday, bagging two goals and adding an assist to help Red Bull New York extend its unbeaten run to five games with a 3-1 victory over the Columbus Crew.

Milovan Mirosevic gave the Crew an early lead, but Henry canceled it out shortly after before McCarty came through with the deciding goal in the late stages. Henry tacked on a third in second-half stoppage time to put the result beyond any doubt.

New York (14-7-7) preserves its unbeaten record at home this season while improving to 49 points on the season, two points shy of first-place Sporting Kansas City.

Columbus (12-10-6) stays put on 42 points, suffering its second successive loss.

The Crew took a shock lead less than three minutes in when Jairo Arrieta skipped past Connor Lade on the left side of the box and slid a low cross in front of goal that was turned in easily by Mirosevic.

But New York answered quickly thanks to an inch-perfect long ball from Rafa Marquez. The Mexico international found Henry's run in behind the Crew defense, and the Frenchman collected the delivery before slipping a low shot past Andy Gruenebaum.

Both sides produced an array of scoring opportunities, but McCarty popped up with what turned out to be the game-winner in the 79th minute when he headed home a corner kick from Henry.

Gruenebaum injured himself on the play and was replaced by Matt Lampson, and his inexperience was on display for all to see in stoppage time when Henry caught the Crew goalkeeper out of position, scoring directly from a corner kick for his second of the game.
