'Caps claim another draw at Chicago

Bridgeview, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Vancouver Whitecaps FC earned a fourth straight draw on Wednesday at Toyota Park as the team finished in a 0-0 draw with the Chicago Fire.

Following a 5-1 defeat at San Jose last week the point will be a welcomed result for the Fire, but the team continues to struggle in its search to collect wins as Frank Yallop's side has earned just three this season.

The hosts had the better chances in the match and Mike Magee went close with a free kick in the ninth minute as he curled the ball around the wall and just past the right post.

Magee picked out Jeff Larentowicz in the middle of the box late in the first half, but his free header was turned wide of the post from 12 yards.

Vancouver carved out a rare look at goal early in the second half as Erik Hurtado burst down the right wing and got into the penalty area, only for goalkeeper Sean Johnson to come off his line and snuff out the chance with his legs.

Chicago had one last opportunity in the 80th minute when Magee turned with the ball and laid it off for Quincy Amarikwa, who fired his shot just over the crossbar.
