Ten-man TFC holds on for draw with Fire

Bridgeview, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Toronto FC played the final 60 minutes with 10 men, but the Canadian side was still able to come away from Toyota Park with a 1-1 draw against the Chicago Fire on Wednesday.

TFC went down to 10 men just 30 minutes into the match when Luke Moore was sent off, but the visitors managed to take the lead in the 42nd minute through Jackson.

Chicago equalized in the 56th minute courtesy of Harrison Shipp's sixth goal of the campaign, yet Toronto was able to hold out for a point to extend its unbeaten streak to six games.

There wasn't a lot in the match in the opening half hour, but things took a dramatic turn when Moore received a straight red card for delivering an elbow to the head of Chicago's Chris Ritter.

Quincy Amarikwa went close in the 41st minute for the Fire, who found themselves down a goal a few minutes later when Jermain Defoe's cross found an unmarked Jackson inside the penalty area, allowing him to turn home a header to put TFC in front.

The hosts finally broke through in the 56th when Shipp took a pass inside the area from Mike Magee and saw his deflected shot beat goalkeeper Joe Bendik, who was only able to get a hand to the effort.

Chicago pushed for an equalizer and Bakary Soumare had the ball in the net in the 73rd minute, only for it to be ruled out for offsides.

The final chance at snatching the win for the Fire came five minutes from time when substitute Juan Luis Anangono saw his half-volley from inside the box whistle just over the crossbar.
