FCD returns home for Union clash

Frisco, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - FC Dallas will welcome the Philadelphia Union to Toyota Stadium on Friday for its first home match in league play since June 7.

After getting a 3-2 win over the Colorado Rapids in its last match on home soil, Dallas hit the road for two matches and brought back two points. The club played to a 2-2 draw with the Portland Timbers prior to the World Cup break before returning to action on Sunday with a scoreless draw against the Columbus Crew.

Dallas coach Oscar Pareja was not satisfied with the solitary point against Columbus, saying that his team had multiple chances to get the goal that would have won the affair.

"Really, it comes down to goals. Goals give you points. I can't explain myself of how we didn't end up with three points," said Pareja. "We had four clear chances to score, everybody saw it. But that was due to hard work, discipline, the tactical discipline the boys showed."

Keeping a clean sheet was an important goal for Dallas as it had conceded a total of six goals in its previous three games.

"We kept a clean sheet, which was good," said midfielder Adam Moffat. "Didn't look like conceding too many times, but probably should have scored a few. I think we're disappointed about that. You come on the road, you bury your two chances and get your three points. We didn't get that, but at the same time, it was positive. We were disciplined in our shape and we didn't give them too much. They had a lot of the ball, but in places that we're fine with."

Philadelphia, meanwhile, has been in a positive vein of form despite some turnover to the coaching staff.

Despite parting ways with head coach John Hackworth, the Union have managed to take seven points from their last three games to climb to seventh place in the Eastern Conference.

"It has nothing to do with the coach. It has to do with the players," interim coach Jim Curtin said. "I have good players. I would say that the first half of the year we had a lot of very good players that had a poor first half of the season. This is the second half of the season, it's a new start for them."

Most recently, Philadelphia went to Gillette Stadium and grabbed a surprising 3-1 win over the New England Revolution.

Sebastien Le Toux played a starring role in the win. The Frenchman has now recorded six goals and three assists in his last five games across all competitions.

"It feels great scoring the amount of goals that I have in the past couple of games," Le Toux said. "I was injured for a little while with back spasms which I was playing with - so the fact that I feel 100 percent going into the game feels great.

"I just want to feel as well in the future and I know that I can bring more to the team. If the coach puts me more as a forward along with my confidence I think that I can do well going into the future."
