After a record-setting performance in the Wanamaker Mile at the 106th Millrose Games, NC State redshirt senior Ryan Hill has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Men's Performer of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday.

Hill broke a 39-year-old ACC record with a time of 3:54.89 in the mile run at the Armory in New York, topping the time of 3:55 by North Carolina’s Tony Waldrop that had stood since 1974. Hill’s time was the fourth-fastest ever by a collegian and the second-fastest by an American college runner.

It marks the second time this season that Hill has been cited for the weekly award, after receiving it for the first time in December following a victory in the men's 5,000-meter invitational (13:43.52) at the Hoosier Open in Bloomington, Ind. on Dec. 7.

The Hickory, N.C., native owns the ACC’s fastest times in the mile, 3000-meter and 5,000-meter runs this season.

Hill and the rest of the NC State track & field team will return to competition at the 2013 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships, which will be held Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 21-23, at Rector Field House on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va.
