Tar Heels land 4-star QB Shough

Chapel Hill, N.C. — North Carolina football picked up a major commitment Thursday as four-star, pro-style quarterback Tyler Shough committed to the Tar Heels.
Shough, a Class of 2018 commit from Chandler, Ariz., had 23 offers but was said to be deciding between UNC and Michigan.
The 6-foot-5 Shough threw for 2,079 yards and 27 touchdowns last season for Hamilton High School. Ranked the No. 16 in the 2018 class by Scout.com, he also impressed at the Elite 11 camp.
Shough becomes the sixth commit for Larry Fedora's 2018 class joining Payton Wilson (OLB, Orange HS), Dyami Brown (ATH, West Mecklenburg HS), Avery Jones (OT, Havelock HS), Chris Collins (WR, Richmond Va.) and Bryson Richardson (S, Buford Ga.)
