Charlotte, N.C. — The University of North Carolina football team is in Charlotte for Christmas, preparing for their Saturday bowl matchup against 9-3 Cincinnati.
On Tuesday, they did the NASCAR thing at Charlotte Motor Speedway where Director of Athletics Bubba Cunningham tweeted a photo of head football coach Larry Fedora with a UNC-themed car.
Both teams are looking to end the season on an up note after difficult starts. Fedora's Tar Heels started the season 1-5 and looking lost. After losing starting senior quarterback Bryn Renner, they could have lost their way. Instead, they regrouped and rebounded to finish 6-6.
UNC has beaten Cincinnati in two meetings, the last one in Chapel Hill in 1991.
