TF: NC State Wraps Up Competition at Virginia Tech Elite Meet

Blacksburg, Va. — The NC State track and field team wrapped up competition at the Virginia Tech Elite Meet on Saturday, placing four student-athletes in the top-five in three events at the Rector Field House.
In the men's 400 meters, freshman Will Krehnbrink finished in second-place with a season and career-best time of 48.42. Krehnbrink, who finished in first place in the 400m last week in the Bob Pollock Classic, bested his previous career low of 50.06 by over a full second.
Brian Davis also set a new season-best in the 400m with his time of 48.92, good enough for a fourth-place finish on the day, while Erin Jenkins (51.88) and Josh Gandy (53.26) finished in 19th place and 22nd place, respectively.
In the women's 400m, the Wolfpack sent five runners to the starting block with Tiana Patillo coming in fastest for State with a time of 56.09, good for a fifth-place finish. Denae Ford (57.71) ended up in 15th, while Tatyana Glasgow (17th), Sharese Roberts (20th) and Colleen McGuire (22nd) rounded out the rest of the Pack runners.
Elizabeth Shuman finished in seventh place in the women's high jump with a leap of 1.75m, while Caitlynn Filla registered a 13th-place finish with her height of 1.65m in the high jump.
Tremanisha Taylor secured a fifth-place showing in the women's shot put with a throw of 14.96m, while SeQuoia Watkins came in 11th with an effort of 13.74m.
