I still can't understand that a VT player was the leader in double figures in the ACC..averaging a tad over 15 points for the season in all ACC games, and, can't even be selected by a writer for either the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd team. Nah.

Marshall has been very consistent all year and has proven he can score when it is necessary. Barns on the other hand has played in spurts. Even if some of his play has been great Marshall has ben there every game. I don't see Barnes ahead of Marshall. The rest of the selections were solid!

I would put Marshall ahead of Barnes. Without Marshall and his super passing UNC would not be where they are today. I have stated all year that he needs to shoot the ball. When he does he opens up the offense, and he makes the defense play hones. If they know he isn't going to shoot the ball they sluff off and cover and double other players. He is a team player firstly. His passing equals anyone that I have seen in the college game since Stockton. He is the motor for UNC. If they go deep he will be the chief factor.

Jeff. I see that you didn't have Erick Green on either team. He averaged over 15 pts per game and was leading the ACC in scoring in double figures through out the season. You missed this one sir.

Sports today are WAY "over-analyzed" by both fans and sports writers. Furthermore the process of selecting/voting seems to be left up to the voters with regard to what is important and how each item of importance is to be weighed in the decision. There needs to be a consensus regarding what performance factors are important, team and individual, and how much each should weigh. With regard to All-ACC... is the basic question, for first team, who are the five best basketball players in the ACC - with regard to the ability to actually play the game? Should it be "by position"? With regard to Marshall... is he the BEST point guard in the conference? Or is he the BEST as in "most valuable" to his team? Which is it? Did one sports writer vote using one definition of "BEST" and another using a different definition? If that is the case... the voters need to decide now, before next season begins "the definition of "best" to be used by all. Gravely's analysis of why Marshall was not on the "first team" and Barnes was... well and good, but how did the other sports writers "analyze" the players to determine their votes? At least some attempt needs to be made to get everybody on the same page with regard that for which they will cast their ballots.
