He shows it so that they know how far they can go after stomping an opposing player in the head. Remember Henderson and the elbow? This also part of the grate (sp.) dook tradition. If you can't beat them fairly, try to injure them.

I'm glad you brought that up. That jurk should have been ejected and suspended for the remainder of his career for stomping on the Kentucky player's head. He shouldn't have even been on the floor to make that shot. But that's dook at its finest.

Well, we can mention it because it happened and we can talk about what we please. If you want to talk about Weber St, you can, because that happen too. It's just that Lehigh was record breaking while Weber St. wasn't. You are right about one thing, it is history and hope that history repeats itself. I also think that reminding the dookies of it may impact how they perform. They may try to do TOO much to keep it from happening again and falter as usual. You do realize that their history also includes poor performances in 7 0f the last 8 years and we love it. i personally would never pull for dook under any circumstances and always wish them the worst. I hope that I have answered this question to your satisfaction...if not, I'm so sorry and the subject will come up again!

    Go Albany!

For some reason Duke and a #2 seed haven't served them well over the last number of times. They did well as a #2 seed in the late 80s and early 90s but lately it seems to have become trouble. Should be interesting.

    2012 lost #15 Lehigh 1st round
    2009 lost #3 Villanova in S16
2008 lost #7 WVA (beat #15 Belmont by 1pt opening round) in 2nd round
    1997 lost #10 Providence 2nd round

Why must UNC fans always bring up Lehigh? Yes, it was a major upset that happens in this tournament. Especially vulnerable is a team that is consistently a top seed. Statistically, Duke would have the highest probability of this happening to them simply for the fact that every year, because of Duke's high seed, they have a chance of being knocked off by a low seed. It was bound to happen eventually. But UNC fans dwelling on this loss from last year would be like me bringing up the UNC loss to Weber St. in the first round, its history. Let’s focus on this year’s team.

Then why has he been repetitively showing the replay of Laettner's shot against Kentucky from back in '92 to his players?

  • sburks1906 Mar 22, 2013

Shoot, Duke better go far in the tournament. I had the Blue Devils winning it all.

Superman has his kryptonite, Duke has its Lehigh...may history repeat itself Bwahhahhahh!

  • JohnnyVoodoo Mar 22, 2013

Depending on which C.J. Leslie shows up to play, I can see the Pack making it to the championship game for sure. The mid-majors have already shown only a few points difference have sparred some of the big dogs from going home early and look for some big time upsets in the upcoming rounds. Louisville and Indiana are going down next and Gonzaga is living on borrowed time. The tarholes will have time to work on their homework and concentrate on their academic eligibility for next season after Villanova sends 'em home later this evening. Oh yeah, and keep an eye out for St.Louis... those guys are gonna rain on somebody's parade too.

  • JohnnyVoodoo Mar 22, 2013

Focusing on the future instead of the past... now that's something the carowhina tarholes should learn to do. First thing they do every single time after they get spanked is bring up their past history, tradition, and records from an era gone by. Yet, all that bs didn't help 'em this year after getting dominated by the Duke Blue Devils.

All of the ESPN analysts I heard over the past week said the Midwest bracket was the toughest. I'll just go with that.

Have you been on this planet lately? Dook has had the easiest bracket for about the past decade. If UNC were to make a run they'd have to beat Vill, Kansas, Michigan, Florida/Gtown, Indiana/Miami, and then whoever makes the final. Dook has Albany, creighton, mich st, st.louis/Lville, K st/OSU. Not easy but not really that difficult either.

  • bradleyholt Mar 22, 2013

We beat Miami the last game. Duke has a good team and its about match ups. As fans we can look ahead. I see next weekend as tough as any. Mich st then Lou. If they could get thru that I think they can beat whoever comes out of the west and be in the title game. I had two unc fans with all honesty say that Duke's bracket was by far the easiest. I hope so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • VT1994Hokie Mar 21, 2013

I see Duke shooting much better than the last game. Those 4-25 3's was really ugly. Duke will respond against the next two opponents. If they can rebound, they could win more than two. Kelly is a shooter. Miami won by taking it to him in the last game over Duke. Larkin beat the big guys with his driving lay-ups. Not one even close.

  • StunGunn Mar 21, 2013

    ^^^^^

Don't think that will happen, but I can see where K doesn't want to dwell on being one and done in his last two tourneys. Duke will come out fast and determined and never look back.
