CJ didn't have his heart in college last year - he desperately wanted to be in the NBA, but he didn't get the feedback he wanted, so he returned for his junior year. I think his reputation as a player who took plays and sometimes entire games off, hurt his chances. Hopefully, this will be a wakeup call for him and he'll get his act together because he does have talent.

Good points. I'm happy for those they got a shot last night. Erick Green was 46th.

He didn't need one more year. He needed one less (at least). Then he could have been drafted based on potential. By waiting so long, he was instead graded on his performance, which didn't compare well with his potential.

  • carrboroyouth Jun 28, 2013

Cannot stand Duke but I have a strong appreciation for Curry's talent. Quite shocked that he was not drafted quickly. Hope he gets a call.

  • Luv2Camp Jun 28, 2013

CJ needed one more year in college. Disappointed, but not surprised, he was not drafted.

  • wlcat609 Jun 28, 2013

For what its worth -- Regarding CJ's not being drafted, I imagine that the NBA folks weren't interested in a one-dimentional player (all offense and a defensive liability) with attitude problems in the past. He'll probably have to polish his defensive skills in Europe, the NDBA or perhaps in the Shavlik Summer League!

Kelly got drafted #48 by the Lakers. I'm surprised that Seth Curry didn't get drafted last night.

A big "IN YO FACE" goes out to all the Ryan Kelly doubters!

Yes, especially having Garnett and Pierce as mentors!

Really happy for Bullock. He gets that guaranteed contract that he deserves. Like to see NC products play on the next level, doesn't matter if he was a Hole. He is going to be a great pro.

Mason went where I thought he would. He should fit in nice with the Nets.

  • StunGunn Jun 27, 2013

REEEEEGGGIEEE! Congrats to Bullock. Really happy for him. He should do well, especially with Doc at the helm.

He went at least 10 picks earlier than he should have. Not impressed.

....yes, a very "safe" pick with a ton of upside.

  • StunGunn Jun 27, 2013

Congrats to Plumlee. Hope Bullock, Curry, Kelly, Harris, CJ, Lo Brown, Scott Wood, and Erik Green get the call.

  • StunGunn Jun 27, 2013

Hope some of our local guys hear their name soon.

  • bitsayjimlarson Jun 27, 2013

Checked the map. Brazil is still in South America.

    SUPER YAWNNNN....

  • StunGunn Jun 27, 2013

I didn't see Bennett going #1. I'm happy for Zeller - I saw that he worked out for the Bobcats, but I wasn't sure they'd pick him, especially when Len and Noel were not taken yet.

My heart goes out to the kids waiting to hear their name called. It's got to be so difficult to sit there with a camera in their face not knowing when or if a team is going to pick them.

  • VT1994Hokie Jun 27, 2013

Super job by the Bobcats in picking Cody.
