people use this site for all sorts of reasons (to be sure)... and, if someone is offending you, or "cluttering" the place in your opinion... then I find it wise to just ignore that person. but hey, that falls into the "to each their own" category... so, you telling me what you think is another example of that (exercising your free will)...

Neither you nor anyone would want to attempt to cross a bridge I would build! I have multiple degrees from one institution... but it is not one with an engineering program. Just a thought here. So, the Orange County DA's office is hiring extra staff, etc. to handle this case. I imagine that millions of $$s of tax money are being utilized here. Knowing that the State Fannus Wuffus always puts a cost and $$ on everything, including life, they should be quite irritated that their $$ is being used in this way instead of going after drug dealers, murderers, etc.

I am finding quite the contrary. As long as it can somehow wipe The University of North Carolina off the map, i'm sure they will see it as $$ well spent. LOL. Just had to say it.

  • Wheelman Oct 10, 2013

How about because at that time Notre Dame football was sucking and UNC with Davis looked like a better place to be. Is it possible that some "goodies" were involved? Yes, but that is purely speculation on yours or anyone else's part. Maybe the agent will come clean so that we can really know everything that happened. As a UNC fan I hope that is what happens. Will it put an end to unfounded or substantiated accusations by UNC haters? No, because they just want UNC to disappear off the face of the earth. That much hate must be a difficult thing to live with. Glad I don't feel that way about NCSU, Duke or anyone else that is a rival school.

I'm talking about being WELCOMED by the institution. Under the table, of course. It is so rampant at Carolina, and you people act like you're all bent out of shape over a couple of iffy things at other schools. Too bad you don't care as much about your own school where this was the rule rather than the exception.

No one paid CJ Leslie's bills, by the way. Someone paid a rental application fee for one of his cousins. They didn't pay him $2200/month for 10 months like Greg Little received. CJ borrowed a car for a week while his own car was in the shop. This has all been settled. Got anything else?

There have been other "11th hour" transitions of commitments from SEC perennial football power schools to Carolina. Why would a top recruit diss a REAL football school for Carolina if not for the goodie bags? Think about that.

  • TruthBKnown Banned Again03 Oct 10, 2013

What I feel sure about is Carolina used these people as a way to get players paid, to help them recruit great players, etc. I can't say an agent didn't contact a State player or two along the way, because agents just want to make a living like everyone else and they don't care about the rules. But I certainly do believe they were made to feel comfortable at Carolina, if not INVITED to contact their players (under the table, of course).

  • WPIDHhurtsPansiesFeelings Oct 10, 2013

This has nothing to do with PJ or anything going on with the basketball program. But you and the rest of the haters on here can't seem to separate the two. The NCAA will do whatever it chooses to do in reference to PJ, but they have issued their penalties for football and they are currently in effect. The state has performed it's own criminal investigation separate from the NCAA and somehow you think the NCAA knew none of this. They cannot punish agents and their operatives, so they punish the players and the school for whatever they determine was their part in it. In other states the agents would just tell everyone to kiss off and go about their dirty business. In NC we have laws against it and that is what this is about. So try as best you can through all of your hatred for UNC to separate what has already happened and anything the NCAA may choose to do concerning PJ. The NCAA is going to so you might as well get used to it.

Shaken - PJ is a whole other can of worms. As for the five unsealed documents, of which two have just been opened, they are related to the football investigation. I can only speculate that no additional charges will be brought against UNC by the NCAA - regarding the football investigation. Some folks are confusing the NCAA investigation with the criminal investigation.

You got that wrong! I suggest anyone who wants to know what was really going on between the NC SoS and the NCAA should read the legal filings posted on the SoS web site.

Since you pointed to the blog of Darren Heitner, a Forbes "contributor", there are some things you should probably consider about him. First, his resume seems too good to be true. Second, Heitner is not a disinterested or unbiased party; he is a former agent and now a partner at Wolf Law in Miami which often represents agents including Rosenhaus.

Third, there is the "interesting" fact that Heitner had what looked like a fluff piece in Forbes back in February interviewing Murray Pool in regards to Chris Culliver. Pool suddenly came out of the shadows and providing too many details about how his relationship started with Culliver. It reads almost like a deposition. Funny how this appeared soon after Pool became of interest following the seizure of the records of Terry Watson and Pool became aware that he was under investigation by the SoS. Now in the Heitner article about the investigations of Watson and of the players who had switched to other agents, etc., there is no mention of his old buddy Murray Pool being investigated by the SoS for his ties to Watson.
