Totally agree - I don't mind the ACC being a basketball conference either!

Keep waiting for that trend to do a 180, but it's more of the aame this year except for Elijah Hood out of Charlotte. I suppose we'll always be a bball conference....and that's not too bad!

  • El Hans Nov 1, 2013

They'll both continue to stink no matter who wins or loses.

However, only the SEC has more active players in the NFL than the ACC and both NCSU and UNC have contributed well to that number.

  • heelsforever Nov 1, 2013

You mean of course except for the tp 5 or so players in the state who will no doubt go to one of the football powerhouses.

I agree. I think the four and five star recruits find the SEC more attractive - they have the facilities, coaches, fans, etc. all over the ACC.

  • jmcdow2792 Nov 1, 2013

Every year it is said this game is big for in State recruiting. If that were the case, all the in State talent would be at NC State with only some freshmen at UNC. I think this idea is overblown.

Did you even READ the article. Each team has 55 kids from N.C. on their rosters now. So who isn't deciding? And Butch Davis's primary concern was to keep the N.C. stars in state as is Coach Fedora.

  • keepitrealin08 Nov 1, 2013

There aren't many recruits right now deciding between NCSU and UNC. There hasn't really been a strong instate battle for recruits since Amato and Bunting. NCSU under O'Brien went a different route and im not exactly sure about their current coach but as far as I can tell there aren't many if any recruits deciding between these two schools.

Duke will get the best student-athletes...UNC and State can battle for the rest.

    GO DEVILS!!!

  • JPack Nov 1, 2013

The best recruits in this state don't stay here because no body here can get them a conference championship, let alone a national championship. They are going where they can win. And that's not North Carolina.

  • swray001 Nov 1, 2013

The in state recruits that go to unc, are not smart enough to go to State.
