    Clemson's #2, they're going to a BCS bowl...

  • mikeyfan5600 Dec 9, 2013

The number 2 team in the ACC gets the number 5 team in the SEC, that should say it all right there.

I credit some of Boone's off night to FSU's defense though. Alot of those short passes Duke normally makes would result in some crushed RBs and receivers the way FSU tackles and so I can see why Boone might have hesistated to take some of those open passes.

The interception he threw into 3 FSU defenders was attrocious though.

  • rfred16 Dec 9, 2013

Boone certainly had an off night...When Cut is chewing into him on the sidelines, like he had to do against Miami and N.C. State, you know Boone's not mentally in the game...He had open receivers 5 and 10 yards down the field on many short third down plays against FSU, and he kept trying to force passes downfield to Crowder, who was double covered.....Cut addressed this after the game when he said we didn't do a good job of taking what was available to us.....Boone needs to be more consistent...

Classes ended on Friday so there's a good chance many of the players' finals were completed before the end of last week since alot of professors like to knock finals out early.

You all are forgetting the biggest factor in all of this situation. Johnny Manziel is done with football and finals for about 3 weeks leading up to the game. There's a good chance he won't be in any kind of game shape by the time new year's eve comes around. He's got about 20 nights of partying to do in the next 3 weeks. (Johnny makes PJ Hairston look like a choir boy...)

  • innocent bystander 3 Dec 9, 2013

They have a chance only if they can rattle Manziel. LSU and Mizzou finally figured out how to do that in the last two games of the regular season, so I'm sure Duke will be wearing out those game films!

duke finishing last was "truthful" at the beginning of the year also. Know what is 100% fact? unc lost to them, and no matter what history or statistic you bring up, that's the team you lost to, and as of this year, you are worse. that's the way it is

he's already commented nearly 10 times, I guess he just feels the need to involve himself in duke athletics. Some people will never be satisfied, he just can't accept the fact his team is worse.

Care to look at the video of the 4th quarter??? There is no difference in his play calling throughout the game....They mixed it up on 1st and 2nd down with runs and passes....no change..

  • rfred16 Dec 9, 2013

I think this will be in line with most people looking at this game objectively...But, Duke has at least a chance in this one, so it will be fun to watch..

  • abcersimback Dec 9, 2013

ok if you believe that. of course he did on 3 down when he was trying to pk up 1 downs. i'm talking about 1 and 2 downs.

  • rfred16 Dec 9, 2013

Nope, check your facts again.....quit making this stuff up....They continued to pass the ball down the field...That is NOT throttling your offense...sorry.

LOL! he throttled back his play calling.

  • innocent bystander 3 Dec 9, 2013

Duke will put up some points but I think aTm will totally control the time of possession and dominate in the end. Anyway it should be a fun game and the Georgia Dome is a great venue for a college bowl game.

Funny.....I know they are hoping that Cutcliffe takes a job somewhere else....Too bad for them it looks like he is staying... Get used to Duke having 8, 9, and 10 win regular seasons as long as he is there...From here on, a 7 win season will be considered an "off" year...

Shows your lack of knowledge about the game.....No way all 10 of these teams beat themselves...Sorry to burst your bubble, but Duke actually WON those games. Case in point: Ask Miami, as Duke had over 350 yards rushing and dominated them in the second half..The only thing that showed Sat. night is that FSU's talent is probably the best in the country, and nobody on their schedule has been able to come close to competing with them...Nobody.

  • abcersimback Dec 9, 2013

    View quoted thread

i've got to some bad news for you. it will be a lot worse than 21. it will probably be more than what fsu hung on them. i think dook's success was more of other teams beating themselves instead of dook actually beating them and it showed sat night. when a team doesn't beat themselves, dook doesn't have the talent to actually beat them.

  • junkmail7276 Dec 9, 2013

"Enjoy the sites in Atlanta,Looks like another beat-down coming...this one should be a little closer, probably only lose to TT by 21"

So if Duke would lose by 21, does that mean unc would lose by 23?

Given the choice between playing against a Heisman winner in Atlanta or in the Who-Cares-Dot-Com bowl in Charlotte, which would you choose?

  • TeaBagOnLove Dec 9, 2013

This is a great bowl for Duke and a very beatable Texas A&M team. Duke is very well coached and follows the game plan, while Johnny Football is a high-risk, "let em rip" player. A&M's defense will give up points, so it comes down to Duke's defense keeping the gunslinger on his back.

Good Luck Duke and congrats on a great season!
