The Redskins are NC NFL team not the Panthers just in case you are young or just dumb to know.

  • Toddler10-21 Dec 12, 2013

Agree Terrell Davis was probably the best back in the NFL during his short career. Actually I think Elway lost more super bowls than he won.

  • stevemichaels Dec 12, 2013

All year the fools at ESPN kept saying he is bad because of no off season - sorry, that lame excuse only works for a few weeks - this is well into the end of the season - call this thing a bust and hope for better next year - me I will be rooting like heck for his back-up, just hope he wins out and makes RG3 seem like the overhyped machine he is.

Did you not read the second sentence in my post and simply stop after the first? I was sorting you out by showing you out as to why Shanahan won those SB's.

I would take RG over Cam anyday Cam is having a better year this year the Panthers have a better overall team right now they are winning with defense but RG will be the better QB.

So Terrell Davis made him a better coach?

  • Innsbruck Dec 12, 2013

    View quoted thread

Ken D, you obviously weren't paying attention during or before Mike Shanahan's two SB seasons. Elway was a good QB and finally found a RB in Terrell Davis to get them over the proverbial hump and win those SB's.

  • Innsbruck Dec 12, 2013

Funny how as RGIII AND the Redskins gets worse as the year drags on, he gets more and more support for why he should still be playing. Meanwhile, all last season and the beginning of this year all we heard was how Cam was terrible and needed to be benched even though he was playing better than average. Gotta love it.

  • Tackman792000 Dec 12, 2013

When you have a young quarterback like RGIII who is taking a beating by being sacked 24 times in the last 5 games, it doesn't take a Rhodes Scholar to figure out the offensive line is not up to par. Given the proper amount of time in the pocket, any NFL quarterback should be able to complete passes to open receivers. Why throw Curt Cousins in the mix to get beat up if the O-line is not revamped. If RGIII is healthy, play him, if not, play Cousins, but you got to beef up the O-Line regardless of who the QB is.

  • jdman Dec 12, 2013

they put him as an elite quaterback before he really accomplished anything ...they act likes he walks on water...maybe its just the redskins organization...they have been losers for such a long ....and he is there only hope.....good luck with that

  • BISHOP5 Dec 12, 2013

He's actually won 2 as a HC, one as an OC...I'm guessing that's 3 more than you have.

  • littleriver69 Dec 12, 2013

He wasn't that good anyway. Trade him.

  • Cragsdale Dec 11, 2013

sophomore slumps are sometimes harsh. he will do better next year..

  • ABCers burning jerseys Dec 11, 2013

Poor Redskins. Hey, come over and join the Panthers, North Carolina's Team.

Couldn't agree more. I looked back at his overall record since Elway retired and it's like 6 games over .500........for a 15 year period.

  • hi_i_am_wade Dec 11, 2013

Robert Griffen III came back from injury too soon. You can bet your last dollar if it wasn't for ESPN's NFC East fetish, he wouldn't have been under so much pressure to return from the injury before he was ready. That NFC East fetish also gave RG3 endorsements, which put even more pressure on him to succeed. He will be a lot better next year, regardless of who the coach is.

I've never understood why Shanahan has the reputation that he does. When has he ever done a good coaching job? So he won a Superbowl. Don't you suppose John Elway had something to do with that? He's been living off that ever since, IMO.

  • 2ND AMENDMENT Dec 11, 2013

Hey Adam Mold!Just FYI, This ain't Maryland! Or Virginia. The Washington Redskins haven't been relevant for DECADES! Must be slow day in the office. In so many ways. And I mean SLOOOOOOW.

  • jam3baseball Dec 11, 2013

The rest of the team should be benched with him. Offense, defense, and special teams are all terrible. When RG3 started the first game of the season, the entire organization knew what they had set themselves up for. The entire off-season was about RG3. He could not get it done in week one or hardly anytime this season. Same could be said of the entire team and coaches. The organization as a whole has been stinking it up for a while now. When will it stop? Wish Jack Kent Cooke's family still owned this team. Time to start over!!!

  • StunGunn Dec 11, 2013

RG3 has been a pawn in the battle between Shannahan and Snyder. All three men have egos, but RG3 is the one who will pay the price for the decision others made. I hope he is able to heal properly and go on to have a successful NFL career; he's a good guy in a tough situation.

  • Toddler10-21 Dec 11, 2013

Agree also. Spend the most but, very seldom make the playoffs!

  • sburks1906 Dec 11, 2013

Good for Shanahan. Danny Boy Snyder needs to be stopped.

Amen to that, but alas no way to "fire" both the owners which is well past due........

  • 4tarheels Dec 11, 2013

It's sad that one of the best rivalries in NFL (cowboys/redskins) has been hijacked by two of the worst owners in the game today (Jones & Snyder).

    Jeff George maybe, not Vick.

  • olivechapel1000 Dec 11, 2013

Griffin is not that world beater that other q-b seem to be. How would Tony Romo do in washington?

How RG3 do in Dallas, Buffalo?

    Tampa Bay is doing well.

    John Gruden is the asnwer?
    But what is the question?

  • truewolfpack2 Dec 11, 2013

Coming from a guy who probably never played a down of football in his life...Get a life dude

  • Tizu Dec 11, 2013

Shanahan is asking to be fired...that way he can get the $7M remaining on his contract. If he quits, he won't get that.

  • THeelBrn Dec 11, 2013

By benching RG3, Shannahan is getting his punch in before the owner of the team punches him out the door, and on his way. He wasn't the best choice when he was brought in anyway, IMO only.

  • Obamacare for one and all Dec 11, 2013

I agree with this decision. Griffin has played poorly most of the season and needs to start focusing on how to play the game properly instead of admiring himself in the latest Subway commerical.

If RG3 keeps it up, he going to turn out just like Michael Vick. A bum.
