No doubt. I talked to Felton Capel last week at the Harris-Teeter. He sounded OK. Jean is still taking care of business.

Heh. Teams show up and some teams takes time. NC Central did a super job. I'll bet that NC State would beat them 9-10 right now.

Agree, Toddler, and I bet Central could beat several other ACC teams.

Agree that what Cut and Duke have accomplished in football this year is deserving of the #1 spot, BUT, how about that 18-inning game between State and Carolina in the ACCT? That game is one for the ages, and one I won't soon forget. Both Carolina and State making it to Omaha is a huge story.

NCCU beating NC State in basketball is a great accomplishment. Coach Moten is a good coach..

I agree, A&M does not have a defense. They depend upon outscoring the opponent. I am not saying Duke will win, but I do think they have a chance. We will see soon.

Duke football is indeed a big story in sports in this area. I don't know of one to replace it at No. 1, but there may have been a few that would tie. What about Rodon and NC State baseball?

A&M doesn't have the defense FSU has

  • cjw6105 Dec 27, 2013

All that's left of this lousy football season is for TA&M to beat the snot out of Duke, who is without its leading rusher.

Like I said, had Duke had to play in the ACC Atlantic Division, they wouldn't be in Atlanta, and maybe not even in Charlotte (Belk Bowl).

If you were to take FSU and Clemson out of the ACC and put them in the SEC East, they would be competing for a division and conference championship every year.

Without those two, it's entirely possible the ACC could finish in a 12 way tie for first place with 4-4 records.

Only one top 10 story related to college basketball and that was about two players taking impermissible benefits? Sorry, even though Duke making the Elite 8 is not a shock anymore, it's still a Top 5 story...

  • jcthai Dec 27, 2013

Sorry, but Duke loses big. Duke isn't as good as you all want to think. They managed a good record in the ACC, but look what FSU did to them. A&M will do the same.
