    Staats Battle !

  • ernieridge Jan 4, 2014

Call from the bench: Please give Staats Battle some playing time.
Maybe he can score some points, no one on this team can shoot outside except Turner here and there.

  • jam3baseball Jan 4, 2014

Two senoirs for Pitt dominated the game. Hope our guys grow up at some point. It might be next year!!! Waiting for some of these guys to step up. Need to understand how to play good ball for 40 minutes. Not always going to score well, but had better learn how to defend. Pitt will probably not score more than 40 points in a half the rest of the year. Why can't State defend anyone?

It's good that you finally hit the Pro level Hokie fan, must be better than being a towel boy like you were a few days ago. Keep it up and you might be a legend one day like JG, then everyone will respect your post.

State lays an egg the first ACC game of the year. It's going to be a long year... based on the results of this one. Observations: Not sure why Freeman gets so much playing time for the Pack.. he NEVER scores. Tyler Lewis is too small and does not have the shooting skills to play at the level. I know he played at Oak Hill, but someone missed something recruiting him. Too much hype.
This may one of the worst Football/Basketball years Wolfpack fans are going to endure.

  • mike honcho Jan 4, 2014

Well another strong start for the pack, and another second half fade.

He is such a big hypocrite. He is obsessed with UNC, yet calls others trolls. He even changes his avatar to match the team, that beats UNC. What a sad, pathetic life he lives, in his parents basement :(

  • vt94hokies Jan 4, 2014

Pitt answered the bell in the 2nd half. Too many turnovers and cold shooting for the Pack in the 2nd. Pitt showed some strength with their big guys.

Here we go again, same old-same old!

I can understand that. It's kind of like on a UNC game blog where you post "Where are all of the UNC fans" as a put down. I guess you answered your own question.

  • tgriffin45 Jan 4, 2014

Not like playing Florida Gulf Coast, ECU or Detroit,,,and all the other pansies on the schedule,,,how did those games prepare the Pack...

Such a nice way to welcome Pitt to the ACC,,and easy road win

  • tgriffin45 Jan 4, 2014

    Gott-Fried again........tee hee

  • unc70 Jan 4, 2014

Well, State did win the first half.

They're probably sick of all the UNC trolls derailing every post or story on here...

  • 903 Hail Providence Jan 4, 2014

FYI, this was Pitt's first true road game this season...

  • Dreamchaser Jan 4, 2014

Where are all of the State fans. 903 seems to be the only State fan posting.

  • unc70 Jan 4, 2014

State out scored 37-19 so far in second half.

  • ooksucks-1 Jan 4, 2014

Pitt still up by double digits though.

  • unc70 Jan 4, 2014

Neither team able to do much the past four minutes or so.

17-2 (state college) after 6 minutes....

    54-44 (Pitt) after 28.....

  • ooksucks-1 Jan 4, 2014

State has a confidence problem. They prove that they can play with good teams but panic when things go wrong instead of sticking with the game plan.

Right on the money with that assessment.

  • unc70 Jan 4, 2014

State had started the game well, but they are about to let it get away from them.

America watches ranked teams playing relevant bowl games. Hence, America didn't watch the Belk Bowl...

    State starting to fade.

    Hey Classy

Did U.N.C. beat Duke or did Duke beat U.N.C. in football this year. I can't remember.

Reminds us of dook's Chicken Sammich Bowl game, watched by America on TV on New Year's Eve.

  • 903 Hail Providence Jan 4, 2014

    17-2 after 6 minutes...

reminds me of Duke's last game at the Smith Center...

As much as I hope honcho is right, I just don't see it. Pitt is really good, and I do not think State is ready.

Pitt has an outstanding record at 12-1, however havent played any power houses.
They've beaten Stanford and Lehigh, good wins. Today is a chance for the Pack
to show the conference something, they've started games strong but failed to finish. Lets welcome Pitt to the ACC with a loss in Raleigh.
