The Canes have came along way this season. They have made the Caniac nation proud. It's going to be a great series and now it's time to to show the Bruins what the Hurricanes can do. LET'S GO CANES!!!! WOOOOO!!!!

  • Duke_Blue_For_Lyfe Apr 29, 2009

    Let's Go BRUINS :)

  • bostoncathy Apr 29, 2009

I am glad Thorton got kicked to the curb. He was too lazy to do anything as a Bruin and too cocky for his own good when he whipped us the last time we met up. Karma is a b***. Nah.... I'm not angry or anything about him! ;)

    Go Bruins!

  • bostoncathy Apr 29, 2009

Unlike a few of my co-workers, I like the old school hockey playing..so I do hope to see some good ol' hockey and Lucic fighting! Along with a big can of whoop *** of the Canes! Honestly, just glad we aren't playing the Pens first!!! Should be a good series. Nothing I planned, but will be in Boston for the weekend. It was sad to see the ticket prices. They are going for a $150-175 for nosebleed. I hope to see a game here in NC.

  • VT1994Hokie Apr 29, 2009

It will be harder to continue, but they are playing a complete game right now. The coach has made a huge difference. Hope they can continue on and do the deal again.

Hey WRAL, learn something about NHL hockey. The Boston Bruins are NOT the Eastern Conference Champions as your headline says. They are the #1 seed in the East in this years Stanley Cup Playoffs. Technically the Penguins are still the Eastern Conference Champions until the Eastern Conference crowns a new Champion in a few weeks. Trying to add more drama are we?

    GO CAPS!!!

  • Here kitty kitty Apr 29, 2009

To Mortonwhatever...na na na na booboo!!! GO CANES!!!! Let them hear the Caniac nation all the way to Bahston!!! LETS GO CANES!!!!!!!!!!

  • frankncsu Apr 29, 2009

    You from Boston Ryan?

  • 1Packfan Apr 29, 2009

Any team that is in the playoffs is a good team. Look at 2006. Edmonton was a #8 seed and they went the distance only to finally be capsized by the storm at the RBC!

I expect another battle that I think goes 6 games. Considering I'm an "expert analyst" - haha - DO NOT take that to Vegas.

I expect a physical series, and it ultimately will come down to which goal tender is hotter - Thomas or Ward. AGain - 2 of the best going at it! This series won't get the respect that Pitt/Wash will get because of the Crosby/Ovechkin matchup. Fine with me....let's ratchet up to a Category 5 and beat the Bruins into submission!

  • foetine Apr 29, 2009

seeing how the difference between 4 and 8 seeds in the East was 6 points, there's no need to talk about who had it harder. Plus Carolina went 3-1 against the Devils with the one loss being by a goal. So Carolina was the overdog in this battle. Now they have to face a team who had their number in all 4 games.

  • wildervb Apr 29, 2009

    mortonlipschitz!!

You finally crawled out of your hole! How many boxes of Kleenex did you go through last night when your Devils blew the lead? Are you turning into a Bruins fan now? I'll bet you're realy just another digruntled Sabers fan aren't you?

  • mortonlipschitz Apr 29, 2009

No, he's just overhyped dead weight, ala Brinda'less.

  • wildervb Apr 29, 2009

I have a question. Does anyone know if Cole has some injury, he looked very slow and tentative against the Devils. Scored no points during the entire series. Just wondering.

  • tripposb Apr 29, 2009

    Cathy,
I would not say playing the 8th seed "does not mean anything". It just does not mean everything. Typically 8 seeds don't upset 1 seeds. But the SJ had the President'S Trophy jinx going. That and they are NOTORIOUS playoff underachievers.

I really like Boston and the Bruins but I LOVE THESE HURRICANES!!!I just hope this is a good series. The Canes are playing much better now than they were at the time the 4 games against the B's were played.

    GO CANES GO!

  • Duke_Blue_For_Lyfe Apr 29, 2009

Those Boys from Beantown are very competive :))
    GO BRUINS

  • LGD Apr 29, 2009

Last nights game was ******* awesome! Canes do have a tougher test and so does the Bruins; isn't that how it typiclly goes?

    GO CANES!!!!!!

Playing to the 8th seed team doesn't mean anything. Look at the Western conference. The sharks were a higher rated point team than the Bruins and they lost the series to the Ducks. What place you are in, in the playoffs means nothing. Some teams get to the playoffs and it's game on and some.... well.. look at the Sharks. Being a die hard Bruins fan, I look forward to the series. Game on Canes!

  • Cragsdale Apr 29, 2009

I concurr batcave, Playing the 8 seed in the playoffs doesn't, imo actually equate to the toughest of tests, but playing the middle pack teams does seem to bring a higher level of competition and thus favors a higher degree of accomplishment in my book.

Both teams will be giving it their all and I for one can see an early upset game going the canes way with boston being a little over confident right now. It remains to be seen, and we'll know starting Friday how this one is gonna go.

  • batcave Apr 29, 2009

    so does Bahston

  • StunGunn Apr 29, 2009

Well, the Canes have their work cut out for them, but they proved how gritty and tough and tenacious they are. Go Canes! They beat Brodeur, they can beat anyone. It won't be easy, but they can do it!
