UNC's Bullock named ACC Player of the Week

Posted January 21, 2013

FILE: UNC junior Reggie Bullock (35) looks to pass during the North Carolina Tar Heels vs. Miami Hurricanes NCAA basketball game, Thursday, January 10, 2013 in Chapel Hill, NC.

Following a career-best 24-point performance against Maryland Saturday, North Carolina’s Reggie Bullock was named the ACC Player of the Week Monday.

Bullock poured in 21 of his personal-high 24 points in the first half against the Terps, out-scoring the entire Maryland team for the first 20 minutes. Bullock was 4-for-7 from 3-point range and added five rebounds in the contest. UNC jumps on Maryland in 62-52 win Slideshow: UNC jumps on Maryland in 62-52 win

Bullock, a Kinston native, is averaging 14.1 and 5.8 rebounds per game on the year while shooting a team best .477 from 3-point range.

UNC will play at home on Wednesday against Georgia Tech before a contest at NC State Saturday night.

Boston College freshman Olivier Hanlan earned Rookie of the Week in the ACC for the second consecutive week after a 17-point, four-rebound, four-assist game against Miami on Wednesday.

Went cold. And the UNC offense stopped screening and passing well which they did in the first half.

  • WhoReallyCares Jan 22, 2013

21 in the first and only 3 in the second half? Did he not play much or decide to start passing in the second half?

Besides death and taxes: Duke will always have a Plumlee and Clemson will always have a Booker.

  • StunGunn Jan 21, 2013

Glad to see Reggie get the recognition he deserves. He's taken the Heels on his back this season.

  • ncstateforever Jan 21, 2013

Well deserved, Booker's performance was outstanding, though.

Don't know but he definitely had a monster game against State, he was even scoring on the Pack's 2-3 zone which Gottfried used to TRY and slow him down.

  • PanthersFan45 Jan 21, 2013

He was on fire against Maryland that's for sure. With such a young team, he'll need to "bring it" every night.
