UNC women win Capital One Cup, will be honored Sept. 7

The University of North Carolina won the 2013 Capital One Cup for Women's Athletics and will be honored Sept. 7, the university said Wednesday. The women dominated the field with national soccer and lacrosse championships and secured top-10 championship finishes in field hockey and tennis.

During the first UNC home football game against Middle Tennessee State on Sept. 7th, Capital One will present UNC with a $200,000 scholarship check and the official 2013 Capital One Cup trophy to Athletic Director Bubba Cunningham.

The Tar Heels finished with 140 points securing an ACC win for the first time in Cup history. Stanford, who won the championship in 2011 and '12, finished in second place with 129.5 points.

    Yes. UNC has won once or twice and usually finishes in the top 10. Stanford usually wins it.

    You have got to be the bigges "tard" ever. Have you ever uttered an intelligent word in your life? All you seem to be able to say is "cheaters never win." You keep on referring to UNC as cheaters, which makes you wrong. They did win or can't you read. Furthermore, there has never been any mention of anything wrong where womens' sport at UNC is concerned, so that comment make look more like the more-ron you apparently are. Did your parents have ANY children that lived?
